“Expose, Walk, Enjoy, Lead, and Love”
Seeing how we are on a tight budget…., I’m posting how I’ve used Sermonspice to get videos for our youth, and in return, I’ll get a $20 gift certificate for my next Sermonspice purchase.
All you have to do is write a short blog like this one, and then send Sermonspice (info@sermonspice.com) the link to your post. And they’ll send you the certificate. Yeah! That is what I am talking about!
Do you find yourself searching for things you think you need? Or searching for things that will bring you pleasure, even if it’s just for today? Are you searching for something to take away the empty feeling you have inside of you? King Solomon had the same problem. In Ecclesiastes 1:13 he states that “I gave my heart to seek and search out…all things…under heaven.“ He goes on to list some of the things he searched out to fill a void in his life: pleasure (2:1); wine (2:3); work (2:4); silver and gold (2:8). But in the end he noted about all these earthly things that “all is vanity (empty of meaning)” (Ecclesiastes 12:8). No earthly things can fulfill you. Everything you need you will find through God. Whether you find yourself struggling or feel like you are breezing through life, God has what you need: deliverance from temptation (2 Peter 2:9); cleansing from sin (Isaiah 1:18); power and strength (James 1:5); comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3); mercy and help (Hebrews 4:16); peace (Philippians 4:7); Salvation (Titus 2:11); and eternal life (1 John 5:11). Take time today to pray to God and ask Him for help in areas where you are struggling.
Come to share the Jesus with our community! Dress warm it will be chilly!

One of the biggest struggles we face after our salvation experience is our continued coexistence with the unsaved. If you have unsaved friends, relatives, classmates or coworkers, it is a daily struggle to do and say the rights things. It’s hard to let go of past relationships that are detrimental to our continued growth in Christ, but it is a necessary step. The Bible says to “note those who cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but…deceive the hearts” (Romans 16:17&18). We also are told to “have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness” (Ephesians 5:11). Take time today to pray to God to reveal to you any relationships that need to be severed so that you can move forward in your walk with Christ.

Do you ever try to impose your desire and will upon God? Do you ever find yourself trying to bargain with God to get something you want? If you have, did it work? Not likely. God has plans for your life and nothing you can do or say will change that. Jonah tried and ended up being swallowed by a whale! (see Jonah 1:1-17) No matter what choices you make, God will direct you to where he wants you to be, when He wants you to be there. Even Jesus knew that prior to His crucifixion when He prayed in the garden “nevertheless not my will, but your will“ (Mark 14:36). We all have problems with allowing God to direct us in our lives because “the spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak“ (Mark 14:38). It is difficult for us to let go of our “control” in our lives and leave it to God, but that is something that we all must learn to do. After all, He already knows where we are going ,how we are getting there, and when we will arrive. If He can control the whole universe, He can take care of your life. Take time today to pray to God and ask Him to help you give control of your life into His hands.
Ewell Youth Ministry exists to EXPOSE students to Jesus Christ, teach them to WALK in His ways, ENJOY the friendship of others, LEAD in serving, and LOVE the Lord with our lives.
